PICTURE OF THE DAY

Photographs of offshore support vessels in action in many parts of the world. 

It is amazing what can be done with a telephone these days. This is the Troms Capella, snapped by Scott Boulter on his iPhone, which resulted in a picture of 1.6 Mb. But to the ship featured! The Troms Capella is an STX design PSV, built in India and now working out of Aberdeen. How things change. It is difficult to believe that once, unless an offshore ship was built in Louisiana it would be no good, and then in Britain, and then in Norway - and now anywhere!! This may also be the day to thank all my contributors for keeping on sending photos in as the numbers of shipping and offshore websites proliferate. It could be - hopefully - that it depends on me, and not on some form of advanced software.
