PICTURE OF THE DAY 2015

Photographs of offshore support vessels in action in many parts of the world.

I mostly publish photographs that people are good enough to send me, and I try to keep up to date. But now and again we have to have a blast from the past. So this is the Smit-Lloyd 121 engaging in an extremely hazardous activity - transferring personnel using the Billy Pugh. Very frightening for the man on the sticks. It was taken by Tony Poll in 2003, and is here today because the 121 has just gone to the breakers.

Photo by Tony Poll in 2003 and posted here on 8th October 2015 .
