BUMI ARMADA

Sometimes it takes a photograph from one of our contributors to provide evidence of the existence of a ship-owner, and this was the case with Bumi Armada which is an organisation based in Malaysia. They operate a large number of vessels of all sorts, from at least one pilot boat to two FPSOs.

The information here is collected from a variety of sources, and as usual none of it can be guaranteed. Having written this and having made an effort to collect the details of the ships I find lots of it is contradictory, or missing, even on the company's own site. Hence I have given up for the time being. If anyone would like to send me information about the ships I would be pleased to publish it.

At the 2014 review I decided to accept the information contained in the company website which seems to indicate that some ships have been added and others have been disposed of. On the other hand the two photographs which I have in our files are of two ships not described on the website, and in addition there is a news item on the internet describing how six crew members form the Armada Tuah 101 were taken hostage in Nigeria. So there follows some ship information which may or may not be correct.
