The
Borgsten Dolphin being manoeuvred into the drydock
at Nigg in the Cromarty Firth. There-s a lot of
history here. The drydock was originally a
construction dock, and probably the last object to
be built there was the AH01 back in the late 1980s.
The rig, Borgsten Dolphin was built in 1975, and
like many of the old Aker H3s it has been enhanced
by the addition of extra columns, and probably pods
on the pontoons. The reason for the upgrades are
always so that the rigs can carry more deck load,
and get from the operating draft to the trasnit
draft and back, safely.
