PICTURE OF THE DAY 2012

Photographs of offshore support vessels in action in many parts of the world. 

I have just been updating a bit of the Stirling Shipping history from the original information which Stirling were good enough to send me back in the 1990s and amongst the many photographs I found this splendid shot of the Stirling Iona backing out of the River Yar, taken by Peter Taylor. This is a VS 473, last seen in UK as the Viking Troll, and now the BB Troll. It's very similar but slightly larger VS 475s are now in the Caspian.
